Building with Entrepreneurs in
Skilled Trades

Connecting Skilled Trades Entrepreneurs with New Business

Skilled trades, facilities maintenance, and light construction are crucial services in the community. Running a business in this industry can be complex and isolating, and for BIPOC and immigrant-owned businesses, additional barriers often exist.

Building with Entrepreneurs in Skilled Trades (BEST) focuses on growth strategies for skilled trades and facilities maintenance businesses within the construction industry that leverage community resources and collaboration. Participants share their challenges, experiences, and expertise and partner to support one another and look for creative and realistic solutions.

This program includes structured networking sessions, job opportunities with large institutions, open discussions, and support to elevate your business.

Join us as we empower skilled trades entrepreneurs, forge valuable relationships, and build a foundation for lasting success.

BEST Offers:

  • Introduction to CCWB's work
  • Candid conversations among participants
  • Insightful discussions on industry-specific hurdles, including working with prime contractors
  • Identify topics or issues for BEST to address
  • Get to know other skilled trades small business owners

Opportunities to work with institutions
  • Meet representatives from large institutions to learn about opportunities to work with them
  • Technical assistance in developing proposals for job and contract opportunities

  • The Ins & Outs of Contracts - key terms, how to protect yourself, what to be on the lookout for, etc.
  • Additional sessions will be covered based on participants’ interests and challenges (for example: Introduction to BidNet, City & County of Denver’s Prevailing Wage requirements, Green Building opportunities, etc.)
